2018 Jeep Rubicon. What the heck is this air inlet ducting for. Start at grill goes under main air box to nothing has bugged me since I noticed it years ago. Passenger side by that crossbar is the opening.

It provides a pathway for air from the grill to the space under the airbox, so the airbox can get more and cooler air.

This makes no sense. It just runs under the main air box without any type of connection.

It’s to channel water up to make it easier to get into the airbox when doing water crossings.
At least thats how it worked on my Jeep.

I suggest removing it if you do any water crossings.

Cause the grill of a jeep is where all the clean air hangs out

And there Is a filter that collects zi bugs that get cooked by the engine heat providing an MRE when you get to your destination. Zi bugs are an essential source of protein.
