Also, if someone is going to build out with the intent to run 40s - any real reason to start at Rubicon or better to just grab a sport since they are getting swapped out regardless?

There is a bit more to a Rubicon than just axles. The tcase is the big mitigating factor. There is zero aftermarket bolt in options so then you're stuck with a sport tcase. Not the end of the world but the gearing most likely won't be low enough for those 40s.

Pretty sure if you buy a brand new Rubicon, you can sell those axles and recoup the price difference from a sport or at least get close. Especially if you tear them off when brand new. In saying that, there are lots of people running trussed 44s with aftermarket axles and knuckles. That might be an option before dropping the cash down on 60s.
