Hi all,

For the last 6+ months or so, I keep hearing this rumbling noise while accelerating that seems to be coming from under where my left foot sits and there's pretty good vibration that comes with it too.

This really only happens when my battery is depleted and im running on gas, and it is definitely coming from below my foot area (think where the floor mat is flat) and definitely different than what I hear from the engine sounds in front of me while accelerating. Fairly loud too - sometimes i can hear it over my music even.

It doesnt happen 100% of the time, but pretty often - and even moreso now that i havent been charging it. Usually only lasts a couple seconds, but can happen a few times in a row.

I feel like it cant be normal since I just started noticing it this spring/early summer, but idk.

Anyone else experience this?? I tried to take a video of it, but it was a bit hard to capture how it really sounds.

Hard to say with from the video... Are you driving in 2WD or 4WD? Does it happen the same spots every day and its the pavement? What are the RPMs doing when it happens? What speeds does it happen at?

2WD and nope, happens on all different roads at all different speeds. Definitely coming from the vehicle and not the pavement.

Sometimes it's even when im maintaining speed at say 45mph or something. Ill have to look at the RPMs on my drive home from work today

Okay so on the drive home today, i noticed that it was primarily happening while I was maintaining speed - like consistently going 45 mph or something. When it would happen, the RPM needle stayed where it had previously been, but when it stopped, it would drop down 1-2 lines.

So for example, if the needle was on the 2, it would drop to the line or two below it when the sound/vibrating stopped. Then repeat shortly after

Clutch slipping? The 4xe doesn't have a torque converter and uses a computer controlled clutch to engage the ICE-transmission. If that's out of adjustment or having issues it could cause your sound and the RPM changes. Take it in and let the dealer take care of it before it goes bad and leaves you stranded.

Did this start after they had it last month? Sort of sounds like a "something's loose" vibration that hits right at the RPM's you mention, but I'm not there hearing it live and I can't feel what you do from the Jeep. Maybe they did not torque something down properly after doing whatever work they did??

I guess it could be the trans when it happens next take not of your trans temps if the wet clutch is slipping it will build heat like crazy, maybe look at the gear your in also. I feel like it’s weird to be coming from the left side of the jeep almost where the T case is but no one can tell from not being there or experiencing it.

Try turning off the Max Regen braking and see if it still happens.
