A typical full front end would run $1,895 to $2,195. As the JL doesn't have much of a front bumper it would be a little less than that depending on if your fender flares are painted or not. I would also recommend adding the lower rocker panel pieces and maybe even bottom sections of the doors if you do a good amount of four wheeling.

Absolutely. Best bet is to get those chips touched up and then come see one of our certified installers to get them protected.
$2k? You're getting darned close to full vinyl wrap territory there. Dang!

It's a polyurethane film with an elastomeric top coat. The gloss will last the entire lifetime of the film. If the film were to ever haze or become cloudy, we cover that parts and labor under our warranty.
How hydrophobic is the top coat? Would it even be necessary to do a ceramic job on top of this then?

drogers,

You're right. But keep in mind that vinyl wraps are not meant for protection, they are meant for aesthetics. Vinyl wrap material is typically 2-3mils thick, whereas XPEL Paint Protection Film is 8.5mils thick and comes with a 10 year warranty. I just want to make sure you understand the differences.

While it's more hydrophobic than paint, it's not hydrophobic anywhere near the level of a ceramic coating. Which is why people often put ceramic coating on top of the XPEL. That, plus it makes it even easier to wash the entire car rather than just being easier where the XPEL is installed.

My Jl was coated in Cilajet. Water and salt run off in beads.

On another note: "We lit a clear bra on fire" seems like a terrible waste of what could be a very important innovation.

Just to be clear, is XPEL Ultimate Plus replacing XPEL Ultimate in your lineup of PPF options? Also, are you going to be releasing door kits for the 2018 JLUs at all? Thanks.

Yes, ULTIMATE PLUS is replacing ULTIMATE. And yes, we will be creating door kits for the JL and JLU.

Can I apply this to my painted beadlock rings?
This is hard to say as I've never seen PPF (paint protection film) applied to wheels of any kind. I've seen ceramic coating applied to wheels to help protect against very minor things and more so for ease of cleaning.

I am thinking for just the ring... right now the ring is mounted DOT approved.. next month they will be mounted as a true beadlock. I figure while the ring is off it may be easier to apply.... also, sorry if you’ve already answered this but how much for a total package on the JLUR $$..... I need something as I spend months off-road especially on gravel sometimes for a month straight.. lots of build up in in-between washing. Speaking of washing , can the product withstand pressure wash from a distance?

The ring is a decent size, but I'm still not sure if it's do able. You may want to call a local installer or ideally go by their shop in person with the ring and ask them if possible.

On the total package for a JLUR, I would do the full front end and the rocker panels. Probably the doors as well. This package would run north of $3,250 or so. Again, best bet for an accurate quote is to find an installer near you and bring it by for them to quote the total package with labor.

To answer your pressure washer question - Yes, it can withstand. We just recommend keeping the stream away from the edges and more than 24" away from the film.

I’ve got an appointment to have Xpel’s PPF on my JLU Sahara. I’m doing what’s called a “partial front,” which will include the grill, headlights, front 1/3rd (or so) of the hood, and then I’m adding (“a la carte”) the A-pillars, across the top of the windshield, and all 4 door sills. I’ll report back when it’s all done, but the quote I got wasn’t anywhere near $2k - more like half that. I’m also having some window tint applied during the same visit, so I’ll have to separate the cost of that out.

So in the end, it came out to $1375 all-in. $275 of that was a 20% tint on the two front windows, and a 70% on the entire windshield, so $1100 for the Xpel. I had the partial front done, which included the front grille, and leading 1/3rd or so of the hood and front fenders. Additionally, I had a “windshield surround” done to protect the A-pillars and across the top of the glass. For a final touch, I had them do the leading faces of the rear fenders, as well as all 4 interior door sills (i have an 8-year-old, so scratches were a guarantee without some type of protection).

The Xpel has been on for just over a week now, and I am thus far very happy with the entire purchase!
