Did you need to modify the plastic engine shroud (not the visible cover in your picture but the one under it) or were you able to avoid doing that?

No. Just used the bolt that holds the shroud in place and bent a piece of aluminum strap.
I had to use a longer bolt put I no longer have the shroud mounted.
