Upgrading the base stereo

When I ordered my 2024 JL Sport S rag top I intentionally ordered it with the base system, because I knew I would want a better system later. Well I went to the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion and Loved it, I also walked away buying a DS18 JL24-SBAR22/BKLD plug and play soundbar with 2- 8" and 2 tweeters, plus a MB Quartz 12" tailgate sub with 400 watt amp. I have the soundbar installed and love the sound plus the stock look, but wondering if I should add an amp since the sub has one. Also the sub does not have to have a line out but MB quartz makes one that plugs in for the JL so is there a benefit to getting one. Thanks for opinion and advice.

Remember, you need * A LOT * more amplification for lower frequencies/sub-woofer than for mid-high range. That is why that sub has the 400W amp.

If you like the sound the way it is, call it a day. Now, if you can't hear the mid range/high-range at the speeds you normally drive at (because of wind noise, etc), then consider it. But you'd have to make sure those speaker could take the extra power - my guess is no.
