I take all of my vehicles to @Discount Tire because they do good work, they're fast and courteous. Lately I've noticed they're always trying to upsell me on wiper blades. What they do is do a quick squirt of wiper fluid and if the wipers streak they recommend you get new blades. Being summer I run around without the top or doors on, and I frequently have the windshield down. This year I'm playing with having the windshield off rather than just down as it helps with sight lines while offroading (compared to it just being down on the hood). Took the Jeep in for a tire rotation. As the tech pulls the Jeep into the shop I see him instinctively pull the windshield washer lever and get sprayed in the face. That gave me, and all his coworkers, a good chuckle.

But I must ask. You're removing your windshield but are not doing your own tire rotations? ?‍♂
Well as soon as I find someone who'll remove, and store, the windshield faster/easier than I can do it myself then I'll get on that. Dropping the windshield is four bolts, removing it is two more, it's not rocket surgery like the JK was. Not afraid to do my own tire rotates but by the time I get the Jeep in the air, all five tires moved, torqued and back on the road, it's much easier to just go to @Discount Tire since it's free. Plus they always check my balance. I think they are supposed to charge for that now (something silly like $10), but my shop hasn't charged me for it yet.

You do realize that with a 5 tire rotation you only need to lift one tire at a time, right? Just a floor jack under the axle, a few pumps and you're good to go.

Jack Rear Passenger, Spare to Rear Passenger, drop.
Jack Front Passenger, Rear Passenger to Front Passenger, drop.
Jack Rear Driver, Front Passenger to Rear Driver, drop.
Jack Front Driver, Rear Driver to Front Driver, drop.
Front Driver to Spare, done.

You can get that down to 15 minutes if you're efficient about it.

It’s not an issue for me because I have access to a vehicle lift but if you do it this way you’ll have to deal with the center cap not being on the spare. One way would be to buy a 5th center cap and keep it in the jeep. Otherwise you would have to remove it from each tire until you get to the one that’s going to the spare’s spot, slightly annoying.

Nah, you just pop it out of the one that is going to be the spare and snap it into the one that was the spare. ?‍♂

Oooh you take off the center cap while the tire is on? i didn’t know that was a thing. I guess I’ve never tried to pop it out while the tire was still on the jeep since I take all five tires off the jeep at the same time.
