I have a Blown 454 V-drive old Sanger boat ( deemed unsafe and not produced in decades) . I was told ins was horribly expensive if you could get it. When I got the policy it was surprisingly dirt cheap- the agent, a friends sister, listed it a “cruiser” , the engine a “Diesel”. I didn’t correct the mistake- if it was one. Two words made the difference. ( Sanger called them “Mini-Cruisers” for a reason.)
SleekCraft or HydroStream ring a bell? Or any flat bottom or tunnel hull

Been conversing with this salesman and he’s pushing the 4xe which I have no desire for and after replying with my reasoning (want a 2 door) he sends me this reply. SMH…

I take the front doors off my 4xe and leave the back ones on to contain my dog. Does that count as a 2 door 4xe when I do that?

You need to step up to the SYNTHETIC Headlamp Blinker Fluid, it will last twice as long...

Sanger was a top tier flat bottom builder, showroom/ factory hwy 99 Fresno. There was a small builder “Bischoff” in Merced. SleekCraft, yes. A friend had a pickle fork, jet ?, brand? I don’t know if regulations / insurance killed the flat bottom or they got CJ’d out of existence. It was sad seeing those fine boats on display being replaced with “ski” boats, then close.

He is very young, like 18 but looks much younger. Doesn’t excuse not knowing the product…

Unless he can get me a smoking deal on what I want we will be finding another dealer.

I still like watching the LUCAS Oil drag boat races on MAV TV here in NJ.
My Sleekcraft was a so called black listed boat for insurance, they kinda got confused with tunnel hull and a Glasstron tri hull lol. I really like going back and looking at the v-drive and jet drive boats of the past. I shake my head when I see the Mercury V-12 outboard along with 3 or 4 more hung on the transom.

It was a bass boat with a couple huge Mercs that I was gaining water on but couldn’t lose half way around the lake that provided the Blower incentive to the stout Hardin Marine (LS-6 with a marine cam and low compression forged pistons) I did just enough for extra power but kept it reliable. Low boost cam, 8lbs boost B&M, more carburetor , smaller diameter more pitch prop…. Went to the drags at a local lake while they lasted ?…… 454 sounded like a Briggs & Stratton when the twin Allison’s fired up at the end of the N Tahoe pier. ?
