I’ve had a weird issue with my 2024 Wrangler 4xe with UConnect 5. If I’m listening to an audiobook or music, or if I’m on the phone, sometimes I’ll get out of my vehicle, and if I stay nearby it reconnects to the radio. The ignition is off, but the phone reconnects. This is especially annoying since my office desk is right next to the window where I park. I’ve been on business calls where I’m talking and talking and don’t the other person’s audio is being projected inside the Jeep, where I can’t hear it. Is there a setting I’m missing? My only guess is that my phone is auto connecting to the mobile hotspot that I have a 3 month trial going, but that shouldn’t affect the audio output.

I’ve been searching for a week to the answer to this problem. Google automatically changes all my “reconnect” questions to “disconnect,” and it’s very difficult even correcting it to find anything other than articles about preventing UConnect from disconnecting. So, I just called UConnect Customer Support. She said I just need to disable Bluetooth when I get out of my vehicle or automatic connecting. Apparently, even if the ignition is off, if I’m near the vehicle Bluetooth will reconnect within a certain time period of parking. There’s no way to disable that. I realize that’s a fix, but part of the convenience of wireless CarPlay is automatic connection. There should be a setting to disable connecting once the engine is off and the door has been opened. Anyone have any info to dispute this answer?

The Bluetooth in the Jeep stays active for an hour after the ignition is turned off. I don't know of a fix for this.

I have an after market Android wireless adapter (AAWireless) and they have a setting in their App to fix it. Works well.

I mean, while that could be convenient at times, it seems like it would be incredibly annoying more often than not. It’s funny because it disconnects when I open the door, but if I don’t move away quickly enough, it will reconnect after a minute or so. I lost a business conference call on Microsoft Teams the other day after getting back from lunch because I kept talking and the others were speaking into my Jeep, which was outside. Manually turning off Bluetooth just seems absurd in a system designed to maximize convenience.
