I have a 2018 JLUR with the 8.4 Uconnect system. Periodically (very periodically) my Jeep will start up, but the Uconnect system will play no sounds. No radio, no satellite radio, no bluetooth devices, no hardwired connected devices will play. In addition, other sounds from the uconnect will not play, like the Nav system. Ironically, the backup camera works normally.

Restarting the vehicle doesn't seem to help. Normally, I just have to suffer the silence until I'm somewhere I can turn it off for 20 minutes or so. I haven't taken it in because it's such an infrequent issue, but wanted to run it past ya'll to see if anyone's had the same experience?

@jf8042

Known quirk.. Next time that happens, toggle to AM and back and you hopefully, find your sound will be restored. Fortunately, loss of sound like you mention is not often...

@Rhinebeck01 is correct. That is the known workaround and works for me. It actually wasn't much of a problem until my xm subscription ran out, even though I rarely used it. Perhaps it's just a coincidence.. perhaps.

I've read somewhere here or there that there might be an update which fixes this, but I just subscribed to Pandora for a few bucks a month and stopped caring.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Please let me know if you plan on visiting a dealership for this concern. I would be happy to open a case for you.

My 2018 would periodically have static that would not be resolved with a restart, I never got it fixed, my 2021 would sometimes behave as OP described, I haven't looked into fixing it.

I'm having this issue at times with wireless but also, another major issue since sometime earlier this year. It started with my CarLinkIt device not automatically connecting in my Wrangler and the spouses Honda. Bluetooth isn't automatically connecting unless I turn bluetooth off and on again. Then I realized it's not the CarLinkIt device being an issue since uconnect has the same issue and Honda's HandsFreeLink has the issue.

The odd part is my spouses iPhone (x) has no issues but my iPhone 13 does. I've tried all the options listed such as resetting/forgetting devices on the phone and vehicle. Rather frustrating but it seems to be an iPhone issue. I'm only able to resolve the sound issue by turning bluetooth off and on again or by closing and restarting Spotify.

I've been having the initial connection issue for months but after upgrading my phone to ios 18.0.1, it's connecting 100% of the time. I'm not sure if the latest ios update fixed something intentionally or just forced something to update on my phone. I had tried everything prior with the exclusion of wiping my phone.
