I have experimented with using the native nav app or Waze through CarPlay. While the interface between Waze (or Google Maps or Apple Maps) is definitely cleaner, I do like a couple functions that are only available on the uConnect nav app: the in-dash turn-by-turn display, and the setting which shows the current city and street at the bottom the uConnect screen.
However I have found the uConnect nav app to be enormously cluttered, especially when it switches to night driving mode. To help eliminate this, I've tried turning off the current traffic displays (which highlight roads as green, yellow, or red, depending on current conditions). This definitely makes the map look cleaner. However while they disappear when I turn the off in the Nav Settings, when I restart the Jeep the next time they reappear. Under Settings it still shows the box for Traffic as unchecked, but the green/yellow/red lines are back. If I click and then unclick that box, they disappear. But then the next time I turn on the Jeep, there they are again.
Has anyone else had this issue? And if so, any workarounds? I realize this is the most First World Problem ever. But for $50k, I want it to work better than the free app I downloaded from iTunes.
