U Connect real time traffic question

i have a JLUR with the big screen and it comes with real time traffic.
on my phone i can pan waaaaay out and see traffic conditions for hundreds of miles.. heck, i can see traffic conditions from ny to california on the phone.
but the UConnect will only allow me to scroll out to say 20 miles and then the real time traffic goes away. is this normal?
