If you want to upgrade your radio to an 8.4 in a Wrangler, I’m betting that you need a radio out of a Wrangler, same series(JLU)?

Yes, radio out of a JK or any other model wouldn't work. You need a stock unit from a JL/JLU. If you have an 18-23 get one from one of those years as the HU changed in 24 or go aftermarket with something like Stinger or Alpine

Probably better off going with an after market unit that you can get better support and functionality.

I wouldn't exactly call the 8.4 an upgrade.

What are you looking to get out of the 8.4 vs what you currently have?

I have the 7" I had the 8.4 in my Charger, was wondering if it also offered XM because my current one does not

8.4 has Sirius radio. If you went with aftermarket you’d lose Pages.

Don't buy the 8.4" ... not worth it. It isn't even a polished product.

Blows my mind that after all these years, you will still experience audio issues if you decide to use the 8.4 Navigation. Even if the navigation voice is "turned off", it will still cause intermittent volume drops.

I myself am heavily considering the AuCar 13.6 screen like this guy has. The only fault it (currently) has that I know of, is that it does not work with the OEM front camera.

I've seen those units and the Stingers, but that AuCar13.6 is not Apple car play. Plus i was looking to go a little cheaper if possible. May have to rethink my change. Just getting information now. Thanks
