Well Calico can get a little nutty too, what's that run called, "Gatekeeper" I think.

Well I sure as he'll wasn't getting up Gatekeeper on a Honda TRX back in the day!! But, nah....I'll stick to hitting Odessa and then showing the kiddos Sweetwater while we head up to the peak. You can still find some good quartz out that way.

Well I envy you, I would love to get back out that way again, but money, time, and well, a Jeep, are three things I don't have at the moment. I'm sure you'd probably be fine with the items you selected...if budget allows to dig a little deeper you can probably find something a bit better...but even if you decide to replace it, you can likely sell them and recoup some money. But if you have some salvage yards around you, I wouldn't rule that out as an option either. Sometimes there's gold in them thar hills.

Definitely going to go hit up the junk yards! I think at the end of the day I'd like to stay around $1200 for a bumper/winch combo...and I don't have any definite choices made yet. I really appreciate all of your advice...it's been a blast!

I have the side steps you linked on my '20 Sport S 4-door. I love them. I get no flex at all. The twin tube design and the star cutouts are nice because it lets snow and crap kind of fall through. I did get one spot where the coating flaked off. Drivers side, right where the driver steps had a section flake and started to surface rust a bit. I sanded down the area till the flaky part was gone (maybe half dollar sized) and then sprayed it with some rustoleum black I had around and it matched perfect and have not problems since. Overall though I have been happy with them and they have been on for just about 2 years. I would probably but their stuff again.

**EDIT**

The only thing I wasnt 100% liking in the begining was how visible the pinch weld/bolts were. My original plan was to just spray the pinch weld area black or use a spray undercoat in that area but I have not done that yet and to be honest I barely notice now lol.
I bought a cover for the pench weld for $99

fwiw - I bought the Tyger trailer hitch before I eventually swapped it out for full new front/rear bumpers that came with a hitch molded in (Smittybilt).

I can tell you this - that Tyger was bomb proof. I dragged ass up some gnarly trails, and it was always rock solid. Now, that doesn't mean their bumpers are the same high quality, but at least it's a data point re: the brand. Price for the quality was top notch imo. If you're also seeing good reviews on their bumpers, might be worth a shot.

So, I'm looking at some of my basic off road/armor/recovery mods and came across Tyger- Specifically looking at their Stubby Bumper

https://www.tygerauto.com/tyger-fur...jk-18-21-jl-20-21-gladiator-tg-bp6j70078.html

And Star Armor Running boards

https://www.tygerauto.com/star-armo...-door-not-jk-textured-black-tg-ja2j2288b.html

I'm trying to see if anyone is currently running with these....the specs seems good for the price, but I'd really like some first hand reviews.

My other question if someone is using the Stubby Bumper...is winches. I'm really not 100% sure how to find
I don't have those specifically. But I do have the Tyger fury rear bumper and Spare Tire/Hinge reinforcement bracket. Both are beefy and seem well made. The installation instructions were well written with color pictures. Both were packaged very well and made it to my doorstep with no damage at all considering the weight.

I have the steps on my 2 door (over 3 years of use). They have never slid on rocks, but have not had any issues with daily driver use. They are strong steps that mount in the same locations as the factory rock sliders. This means that they are not frame mounted, so there are better options for rock crawling.
