This is great news, especially for early adopters, no need to wait for aftermarket flares without the turn signals! Looks like it provides for another inch or so of clearance.
Adding turn signals in the grille should be pretty easy for a DIYer. Certainly after market will over kits for turn signals in the grille whether it be a replacement grille with recessed turn signals, or turn signal applied to the surface. Recessed a bit would look more professional assuming there is a bit of room behind the grille just under the headlights.

I wonder if you can do this with the all black (non-painted) flares.

Maybe the factory fog lights in the bumper could be converted to turn signals, and then led lights added elsewhere to help with the lost light.

This thread made me curious, so I looked at a JL Rubicon at the dealership with unpainted fenders... and they are the same 2 piece design. So I assume you should be able to... however, I question the sturdiness. I wonder how this mod holds up at highway speeds, with half the fender removed...

I don't believe the sport has 2 piece fenders. IIRC they are a one piece.

I believe you are correct, there is no visible joint between the turn signal assembly on the Sport S flares unlike on the Rubicon, even without LED package.

Weā€™ll need some aftermarket fender liners. Iā€™m sure those will be out soon. Not sure Iā€™m concerned about sturdiness since this was showcased on the safari concept and strongly hinted at during the LAAS. Iā€™m sure they tested it.

Wonder what the laws are for where your turn signal lights has to be. Iā€™d love to see what it would look like to have them hidden inside the first and seventh grill slot - a vertical led bar that can make the whole slot light up would look pretty cool...

Has anyone else done this? What solutions have you come up with for signals?

I think this is the best way for me to go 37s and not have to buy a budget lift. I can get a high quality lift later as budget allows. Heck, I may think it is plenty of clearance and keep the lower CG and obvious advantages of maintaining factory suspension geometry.
