OK… so I have a 2021 JLUR and am going to be replacing the front bumper. Additionally, I have the LED lighting group on it and plan to keep using the fog lights. I have researched a number of threads and am not 100% sure I understand everything completely.

I currently have the normal plastic bumpers. I have also read that the LED Fog Lights on a Rubi don’t work with many bumpers. What’s the difference? I saw a graphic that shows that the rubi fog lights in the plastic bumper are the same as other trims. The one thing I saw was that if you have the steel bumper group on your rubi, then those fog lights won’t work. So here’s my questions…

1. In a plastic bumper on a Rubi… is it the same 4 mounting points… kind of at 2, 5, 7, 10 o’clock… that I see in many videos for other types of JLUs?
2. Is it only the steel group LEDs that are not often compatible or different?

Help me understand :)

There are three styles of fog lights, Sport, Rubicon/Sahara/etc premium bumper, and steel bumper. As you noted the premium bumper fog lights have four mounting holes. Here are a pair of steel bumper fog lights.

The Sport fog lights have three mounting holes, two on one side and one on the other.

I’m looking to take off my plastic bumper and replace it with an aftermarket bumper… like a barricade. Here’s the link to one I’m considering. They wrote that it is compatible with OEM LEDs, but not Rubicon LEDs. That’s why I’m thinking they are referring to Steel Bumper Fog Lights. The install video shows it being installed with the 4 point LED fog lights.

Like @6th Floor Mule I’ve used that bracket to mount plastic bumper fog lights in a steel bumper.

My rubi fog lights that were originally on the plastic bumper fit fine in my AEV Front bumper.

I've got a 23 JLU Willys XR with the LED lights. Do I have the Sport bumper? I've been considering the RR Arcus bumper, but don't know if my fogs will work with it
