I am looking for a bag to mount on the exterior of the jeep for an upcoming trip. I have looked at the trasharoo and hear great things about them but i don't want to block the rear camera. I run a 37" spare and was wondering if it could be mounted on the tread/side of the spare instead of the rim side?

I'm open to other suggestions as well. How does everyone mount a exterior trash bag without blocking the cam????

Ive seen someone mount theirs below the rear tire, the strap hugs the tire tread, but if the bag is long it might drag.

That's what i wanted to try but not sure how the bag would fit. I may just order a trasharoo and give it a shot. They just look big in all the pictures i see and i'm not sure how they strap on and if it would work sideways.

I don't think it'll work that well on the side unless you have a huge width tire. I have a 12.50 width and I wouldn't trust it.. the straps form an x shape on the back of the tire and use a Velcro strap on to to keep it from falling of the sides. This video shows how it fits, but doesn't have the velcro strap on top... You might be able to put it lower than the camera but it might just be super low and idk if it would be tight enough against the tire to keep it from sliding off

That's what i was afraid of. I have a 12.50" also. I don't want to put it below the cam because 1. I don't want it to drag and 2. I think it will set off the rear sensors.

What other outside trash containers are available?? I have looked and everything mounts on the rear tire.

Mike, did you ever figure this out. We go to the beach a lot and I love to put the wet towels, shoes, etc outside the jeep if we're stopping at other places. When I leave all the wet crap in back it starts to smell up the vehicle.
