Trails nor cal

Looking for starter trails in nor cal. I live just north of San Fran. Found Hollister, Sacramento and Napa OHV. All about 2 hours away. These may be closest, but thought I’d check with the group.

If you want to make a day ofit, or camp---go just past TRUCKEE and take the Sierraville/Hiwy 89 North and turn WEST on HENNESY PASS ROAD--

Follow the road(no turns) and go past JACKSON MEADOW RESERVOIR(CAMP THERE and(fish for trout) or keep going and it turns into a rocky slow 4x4 trail to SAWMILL/BOWMAN LAKES/W BLM CAMPGROUNDS AND RANGER stations-

Look on GOOGLE MAPS and scout above TRUCKEE/Hiwy 89 and you'll see what I'm talking about--

In TRUCKEE you can gas up and have some great lunch choices--

JACKSON MEADOWS camping costs, but further WEST on the trail BLM campgrounds are free/w camp tables and toilets, sometimes drinking water--but check with RANGERS about fires--I highly doubt you can have any, but you'll still need a permit for a camping stove--

Did Cow Mountain east of Ukiah. Easy to difficult trails. Did the easy and moderate. Nice views. Make sure you have maps and gps locator as it’s very big. Also vary dusty. Keep doors on.

There are several little campgrounds on Hiwy 89, before you get to HENNESY PASS RD. and sometimes it's easier to camp there as base camp and explore-

They have "HOSTS" so things are safer-
