Toyota just trademarked the name. There are rumors of a new off-road vehicle coming out around 2023 called "trailhunter". With all the hype of the new Bronco, and "overlanding" gaining so much popularity Toyota might be joining the Bronco/Wrangler game.
I personally keep my cars for 7~10 years and my Wrangler is 1.5 years old. This is great timing as it seems I will have options when the time comes for my JL. Id love to replace it with a JM, but if Ford or Toyota bring better reliability and similar performance. Why not?
I hope Toyota joins the game, and that it is not some weird Defender type vehicle. In my wildest dream, it would be a trim of the land cruiser 70 series designed for the american market.
