It seems that a 7 pin tow harness tester, attached to the hitch plug provided by FCA, for those who order the trailer tow package or install the MOPAR 7 pin kit after sale, disables ESS.

The rig, it's reported, thinks it's towing something and disables ESS.
I've watched videos of installs of this MOPAR kit. (I own a 4 pin harness, which I installed, and that's fine for me.) Many of the wiring connections happen at the tail lights--one I think under the hood at the Power Distribution Center's high amp fuses on the right, at the first fuse (closest to the front of the rig.)
I was wondering if there was any way to install a 6" long 7 wire cable, fused of course, attached to a 7 pin connector at points strictly under the hood, and then slap a tester at the end--again all under the hood.
If this ESS disable route has consequences please share.
Thanks.
P.S. I get this may not be doable if certain electronics are only accessible at the tail lights.
I can read electrical schematics but it's not where I "cut my teeth." If you can:
