Time for me to buy tires for my Sahara stock size 255/70/18. My driving is 75 percent highway. My off road would be gravel/dirt roads, creek crossing, and I am sure some mud nothing crazy.
Just curious what you guys are running with at stock size. I have been watching you tubes on various AT tires until my head hurts.
I am kind of leaning towards Cooper Discover rugged trail.
Or maybe the Goodyear wrangler adventure with Kevlar.
Tell me what you got!

I chose to replace the OEM Michelins on my JLU with the identical tire and size. While I'd like to have a more aggressive-looking set of tires on my Jeep (and I do really like the look that my chunky snow tire/wheel combo provides), I decided that being honest about my road-biased use case was more important. Selecting the LTXs has proven to maximize both tread life and fuel economy. That I'm able to get them for a great price via my Costco membership made the choice that much easier.

That said, if or when I'd choose a set of meaty all-terrains, I'd likely look hard at the Nitto Ridge Grapplers or the BF Goodrich KO2 tires, both of which are well-regarded in the owner community.

My friend runs the Rugged Trek and he is on his second set. Gets about 40k but he hits dirt roads every weekend. Not super quiet but not loud either. The tread looks like it'd be decent in mud. Just buy those and stop making your head hurt.

My needs were similar to the OP's.
Lots of paved roads, but my off roading is all beach sand.

For that reason I selected Michelin Latitude's with a non-agressive tread.
With the tires I also replaced the OEM shocks, then left for Florida the next day.

I have to say that this tire and shock combo gives an amazing ride and the performance on the beach when aired down is stellar.
