I have a 2018 JL sport Unlimited ... tire size is 245//75/17. I have no clue in what the numbers mean. Will 255/70/18 fit? will my Jeep Wrangler sit up higher? Thanks

I'm with you on these things! The only thing I know is the last number is your rim size...R17 & R18.

245 is the width in millimeters
75 is the aspect ratio - the sidewall is 75% as high as the tire is wide. so 245 * 0.75 = 184 (rounded off)
18 is the rim diameter

A 255/70 would be 255*0.70=178.5 so it would, in theory, be SHORTER than your stock tire.

The problem is, the sizes listed aren't gospel. One brand's 245/75 will be taller than another company's 245/75. Take them as a general guideline. You can usually find more detailed info on the true tire size but you have to dig for it.
