I think you guys are messing with me with your Connecticut warehouse.

On my first four wheels and tires.
Wheels were marred up and tires were at 70psi. Said you’d ship at 30 like I asked. Nope. Took forever to air down all 4.
I asked for black lugs and locking ones. I got chrome lugs and no locks. Or the hex key for the center caps.
Ordered the spare and this is marred worse than the others. I got the locking lugs, but chrome and rusted.
I can’t be the only one dealing with this since it’s been multiple orders.

I love your pricing and customer service. But why do I have to constantly call and follow up.

I'm this close to ordering tires and wheels for my f150 from them. By marred do you mean like some plastic or rubber transfer, or permantly scratched/marked? Were they balanced well, with not too many weights?

They balance like no others. They’re masters with that. Never had an issue with balance.
It’s the lip of the rims. And it looks to be where they’re starting the mounting and or ended it.
The rear lip on some of the wheels have marks through the finish completely and to bare metal. The center hub hole has digs as well on this one I just received.

Sorry to read about your experience with Tire Rack.

They were where I sourced the winter tire/wheel package for my JLU. They arrived in perfect condition, although I too had to air down all four tires from some rather inflated (ha) figure.

I've gotten several winter tire & wheel sets from them, all in perfect condition. I did have to air them down. Figured that was just because of my high altitude. Guess not.
Anyway I wouldn't expect this to be the norm for them.

I would think the high PSI is to help protect during shipping. For most, it’s easier to release air than add it.

That having been said, every one should have some sort of compressor at home, it makes life much better when you don’t have to rely on driving to the local tire shop or using the miserable pay compressor at convenience stores.

I have a compressor large enough to run air tools and enough air to use an air chuck to blow things off. But even a small pancake compressor can be used to top of tires quickly and run an air chuck for a brief blast or two.

I've only ordered from tire rack once years ago, never had any issues. Honestly though I've only ever ordered tires from them. Being that they don't have their own shipping department, they usually ship through third-party companies, I don't think I'd ever trust any of those third-party shipping companies to successfully transport aired up and balanced wheels and tires. I worked at UPS in Connecticut for a year in the warehouse, and we would toss shit like crazy. I never myself experience something as heavy as tires and wheels, but I know what I would have done if I had got them... I would have picked them up with a forklift and thrown them on the truck that way!

Maybe it was the shipper who scratched the shit out of your wheels.

Also are they not completely wrapping tires in plastic anymore? Mind you, I ordered my tires from them 9 years ago, but they were looking just like @Heimkehr tires above, except they were also fully wrapped in plastic. I'm guessing plastic is too expensive nowadays so they just cut that cost out?

The only way the shipper could damage the wheels is if they removed all the packing and shipped them open. The size tires I’m running would make it bout impossible to hit the rim.

It’s from the mounting. You can see where the mounting foot rubbed the finish off

Sorry to here your experience - I for one have had nothing but great luck with them - multiple sets of wheels/tires of the years and zero issues. Best balancing I have ever gotten from anywhere

Well, that was a custom wheel/tire order in my photo. Possibly a tire-only purchase will have the full wrap that you mention.
