Tire Rabbit Hole

Been down the hole for awhile. Trying to figure out my tire purchase. Mostly highway miles, but here in southern Indiana we do have some minor off road.
A lot of old gravel roads....some mud and creek crossings , logging roads.
I was going to go with the Falken Wild peaks but the weight of the tire concerned me.
So I ordered the Toyo open country AT3's. They will be installed tomorrow. They seem to be the best fit for me.
I am 65 so if I see 40k I will be happy.
The Sahara's stock tire size was 255/70/18 I went up one size with 265/70/18.

That is what I just took off of my Sahara, same tire and size. You will love them, great tire. Would've bought them again if they had them in a 295/70/18 standard load range, so had to switch the cousins, Nitto Recon Grapplers. Never have had a bad set of Toyos or Nittos!

I purchased my '19 JL Rubicon one year ago at a nearby Jeep dealership. They put on a set of Kumho Road Venture AT52 LT285/70-17. It's an all terrain tire that was designed for good on road manners. I have found that I like them. They're okay on trails (not Great, but okay), and ride well and quiet on road. They seem to be wearing well, too. Photo taken today, 13 months after install.

I am a happy camper so far. Just put on a few miles. No road noise. They handle the Indiana chip and seal highways fantastic!!!
My first adventure will be Rocky Hollow road once the water goes down some. This is old road with creak crossings. Should be fun!
Going to the Daniel Boone Backcountry byway in June...Red River Gorge.

You will be happy with them. On balance, a terrific overall performing tire, that’s also light for size. My son said “they are the best longest lasting tire ever” on his old F-250 when I mentioned new tires. Hopefully my C’s will last like his F-loads.

Same tire I am looking at for the Wife's 21 Sahara JLU. Been trying to find a 35x 12.50r18 in a C Load range but apparently that does not exist. So these in a D Range are the next choice.

I took a chance and went with Bridgestone Duellers. 265/70x18. I got a deal because they are phasing this size out. Perhaps 275/70x18 next. Quiet, track nice and don't pick up or throw rocks. Weight was a concern. These are about 42lbs. Gas mileage has improved over the same size Falkens. Hopefully they'll hold up.
