Maybe...not sure I'm seeing it. Rubber should really give/deform before being cut by that, but hard to say from my armchair here....

ive damaged tires from scraping a curb. each time it was chunk, like scooping out ice cream. always like a jagged cut though. your cut looks clean/sharp. pretty strange.

good idea to put it on spare. if its holding air and the cut is only superficial it should be fine. you can contact an authorized BFG dealer (or Jeep dealer) to see about warranty replacement but they will likely say it was from "abuse" (road hazard) and not a defect. doesnt hurt to try though. a good tire shop should be able to tell you right off the bat. they will that stuff a lot. dealership would likely be clueless and just say no lol.

I stopped at an authorized tire dealer... he told me that it was a road hazard and that it was not covered by the warranty.

He used a small driver to check how deep it was... to my big surprise it was pretty deep... here’s some pictures... I will buy a replacement tire at Costco.

Worth a try, that is pretty deep, I'd buy a new tire and be done.
