Anyone else going to the Jeep Jamboree in Tillamook, OR, this upcoming week?

My friend and I are taking his RV and trailering my Willys down. Test fit loading the Jeep this morning. The tires are rubbing both sides, but fits!

I'm sure I'll be able to test out my new skids. ~

Here's to hoping to see some of ya'll down there. The weather looks to be pretty nice.

Have fun... I have done the two BOH trails. I rather like smaller crowds and not paying $750 for the privilege of riding in a huge group.

Having said that, I have never participated in any Jamboree so I can't absolutely say it is or isn't worth it.

Where do you camp?

I hear you about the cost. After last year's experience at the Silver Valley Jamboree in Idaho, I decided to try the Tillamook one - it's very popular and sold out in 90 seconds.

There are always tradeoffs. They limit registrations to about 100 and have multiple trails groups for each day. They break down the groups to 10-ish Jeeps per chalk/group. That's pretty manageable. The trail guides do a lot of work to prepare for the jamboree, including a fair amount of trail clearing prior to the event.

For this week we have a spot for the RV at the Tillamook Fairgrounds. For July, my daughter and I will be tent-camping at the Jolly Jeeper's meadow somewhere around mile marker 8 on highway 6.

I found that to be a great event. Yes it's expensive and crowds are not a normal thing for the woods. But, it is a well run, fun event. You will meet some great people. You can try some trails that are a little harder than you would normally try because you have a great support group.
Have fun!
