That's like saying you can order it with two sh*t sandwiches, small order of fried oysters and a 36 oz Mr Pibb with no ice. Why would anyone order a Jeep, that way, with an auto trans? Jeeps have manual trans.
That’s some mental picture ???

An automatic transmission is far and away better in every respect than a manual
Yes, there is absolutely nothing that the automatic transmission isn't better at. Nothing! My favorite part of driving automatics is that I don't have to think about shifting, or pushing that silly third pedal, or being conscious of the engine's power band/optimal gear, transmission takes care of all that.

To be honest, when I drive a car, i really don't want to think about the mechanics of the what is happening, I just want the car to do everything for me. Those older Jeeps were so raw and honestly, I can't wait for the next generation of Jeeps when they become even more computer driven and they do even more things for me. Hopefully, Jeep will someday build a Wrangler that allows the driver to just sit there, no steering wheel, no pedals, nothing, and just let the thing drive itself. Talk about better in every way, that will be it.

When we get rainy weather in Florida my son calls the traction control button the "Suicide Button". If traffic is clear around me and I'm in 2nd (MT) I like to jump on it a little and break the back end free. The MT is a ton of fun nothing like that solid connection between the engine and transmission to shape the power how you like it. I'm glad we have a choice and staying on topic I figure the AT tied to a 3.6 is a ton of fun as well but I'm olde skool!

So I just looked at the online build.

Sport S or the Willy's V6 with 8 speed auto is a $2500 upcharge

Rubicon with the V6 and 8 speed auto is a $4500 upcharge

What am I missing as they seem to be the same drivetrain. Does the Rubi get a different transfer case with this as well?
Willys is standard with 3.6 but when you option an automatic it drops you down from a 3.6 to the 2.0, hence the $2500.

Just checked the Sport S, same as Willys, when you option an auto it drops you from 3.6 to 2.0 hence $2500.

The other day you were able to choose the 3.6 auto. Did not get a screen shot though. No big deal to me as I will not be getting a 2024 until maybe 2028 - 2030 and buying used if we stay in the Wrangler world. if no 2024 V6 auto's are available I may choose a 2023 then.

Gonna be 55 next month and in all these decades of driving and buying cars I have only bought 2 new cars and they were not ordered and just picked off the lot. I'd rather buy used and let someone else pay the depreciation.

Don't do it! SAVE THE MANUALS! :crying:
You can’t even get a manual from Jeep at the moment. They halted all production of manuals due to recall back in feb. Still no resolution from Jeep on that recall. All over a clutch plate. I mean how hard is it to figure out how to replace a clutch plate for one that doesn’t catch on fire?? ?‍♂?‍♂

Most of my jeeps have been manuals but the JL just felt more car like. My daily is still a manual because I love driving one I just wasn't a fan of the manual they put in the jl
