Those who've watched the TV Show Seinfeld may recall the skit where he digs into the rental car agent for having no mid-size car available for him despite her company previously taking his reservation: his premise being that anyone can take a reservation, but the trick is to hold it.

With this in mind, how many of the discount dealers people have reported here https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/best-deals-found-on-a-new-jl.2436/page-23#post-68378 can people also report having actually seen to satisfied purchase, where deals were kept?

River Oaks, Koons (I assume yes), Nielsen, Superior Five Star, Station Chrysler, Dave Dennis, Peterson, Orange Park, Tyson, Jim Marsh, etc.?

Thanks

Not sure what incentive the dealer has to not honor it...people would just walk and they'd have more JLs on their lot?

Love this skit. Been a while.

I ordered from Koons and know others have as well. Mine hasnt been delivered yet but I know some have so I’m pretty confident. I’ll tell you when it’s here!

I’ve bought a few from River Oaks and they’ve always gone above and beyond. Of the 20 or so new vehicles I’ve bought over the last 20 years I can say they’ve been the best dealer at and post sale I’ve dealt with. Helfman family stands by their word in my experience. Even had a GC bought back by Jeep. Not affiliated in any way just a satisfied customer. Wish they owned the local Land Rover and Porsche dealers! Doubt I’m getting the lowest price but that’s only one aspect. I have their first two door ordered.

How's about not producing the vehicle in the first place?

I'm looking to know that the dealer doesn't just take the order, but delivers on it as promised.

And to your point Matthew...right, more JLs on their lot that the dealer might get a lot more $ for from customers willing to pay more money for, for the convenience of not having to wait, at the expense of NOT honoring your discounted factory order, that you were willing to wait for, taking no JLs off the dealer's lot that they might be able to see for above MSRP, let alone your percentage points off the far cheaper Invoice price.

"Next" yourself...Be careful who you dismiss in your own ignorance assuming others are ignorant too.

Insist on a sales contract that states price/options, signed by a GM and place a deposit on the Jeep. Once you place a deposit on the Jeep, it should become a contract that is enforceable. .

Russ, apologies not trying to offend you.

NEXXXT...is in reference to what I thought were Seinfeld puns. (Google seinfeld next and it will pop.) As in if I factory ordered at a dealer and they told me the price went up, I'd say NEXXXT to them and walk.

I was not dismissing you. Agree time will tell with dealers honoring those offers, I just assume they will take the easy money since Jeep sent them new inventory based on their expected sales.

Agreed, I have a signed POC and contract with all pricing and all options.
