Congrats! Great color by the way. :like: My '20 JLUR was kind of a spur of the moment purchase. I had been looking at them but I had this 4Runner Trail that was a great vehicle. Anyway, playing around with the Jeep website, I found the exact configuration I wanted at a dealer in GA. I contacted them and it was still on it's way to them from Toledo. I put down a deposit so it was mine and no one could test drive it or anything. It showed up on Friday Sept 6 and I drove down on Saturday Sept 7 to pick it up. It was sitting out front and looked perfect, so I drove it "around the block", paid for it, and drove it home... about 150 miles.

I've owned lots of Jeeps so I did no research, had not visited this forum, etc. Honestly, had I been on this forum prior to purchase I probably wouldn't have bought it despite my prior great history with Jeeps. Anyway, it was a windy day as I was driving home and it tended to wander a bit. First thing I thought was to check the tire pressure because new vehicles tend to be overfilled. They were 46-49 psi hot. I deflated down to 38psi allowing for the heat. It straightened up considerably. Still it was no 4Runner as far as steering precision but it was definitely Jeep-like and tracked well.

So I get home and started spending time on this forum. Wow! All the stuff I started reading and then I started second-guessing myself. I held on to the 4Runner just in case. I spent weeks over-analyzing the steering (mine is fine with about 3/4" play before wheels respond), listening for clunky axles, inspecting for drips and leaks all over, waiting on my doors to be creaky, listening for wind through the hardtop, inspecting for bubbles in paint, expecting UConnect to crash, etc. etc. I worked and worried myself to death to the point I was flipping coins to see if I should just sell it and be done with it or sell the 4Runner. Remember, I had zero problems so far.

Finally, I admitted I was being ridiculous as it has been solid for the first 4000 miles. I sold the 4Runner about a week ago and have not looked back. If the JLUR stays like it is, it may be one of my favorite vehicles of the 38 I have owned. If it turns into a piece of crap I will deal with that when it happens. But right now, the only thing other than the Fiat part of FCA that has ever made me doubt its ability to be a great vehicle is this forum. Good luck with yours.

Doc... Duh.
I’m not too worried about it. I pick up my PunkN JLUR Manual with a sky one touch Tuesday in the DC area. I have a 6.5hr drive each way. Looking forward to some peace and quiet on the drive after an 80hr holiday work week.

Have my floor mats, entry guards, Rock Slide Engineering step slides, and new decals on order (we are going full Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown).

Commissioned a girl to do cartoon work for me and sent the images to pixeldecal for them to make fender and hood decals.

So when you see the Great Pumpkin tolling by with the giant snoopy on the hood that’s me. Lol.

bumpers are plastic for now and I’ll replace later with aluminum from rock hard and a winch. Maybe in the spring.

something that will fix the steering drift on Sahara's and Sports is get some 265x70 tires and ditch the all seasons that come stock on your jeep. those narrow tires love to move around in the wind just going to a 10.5 inch or 11.5 inch wide tires will fix most drifting on the road.
