Tailgate Panel - Green Retaining Clips

What is the Mopar Part Number for the Green Clips that holds the tailgate panel in place. Are they available elsewhere than from Mopar.

Can tell you that you will play hell trying to find those green clips anywhere.

Only way I found you could buy them, is if you bought the rear tailgate panel at about $100, just so you can pull the 10 or whatever the green clips off of it.

Anyway, I looked everywhere. Called multiple dealers. I needed just one green clip.

My solution.. I talked to a local dealer and I was allowed to remove 2 green clips from a JL that was being returned to FCA under the Lemon Law... Dealer did me a solid!

If you find a source where you can buy the green clips alone, do post here where, as many here will appreciate your info.

Yep that’s exactly what the dealer told me this afternoon, the clips were not sold separately, they only came with the tail gate panel... It doesn’t make any sense... it would make great sense to only replace the ones that breaks... Me too I only had one that bore off !

the 005 seems to be a qty number and not needed to order the part actually. They come in packs of 5.

Went to order some and came with a message that
It doesn't fit the 2018. I thought they were the same?!?

As far as I know a JL is a JL. 2018 has two models within the same year so if yours is a 2018 JK then they probably won't fit.

If it is a JL then it should fit.

I have run across some sites that don't ask for model style and automatically assume its a JK. I have been known to enter the year as 2019 to avoid that.

I ended up ordering from All Mopar Parts along with some other things.. received a 5 pack. It was $3.30.

For anyone looking for something cheap that works, I bought these from Amazon and they work. In fact, they hold better than the plastic OEM ones.

Disclaimer: I haven’t had to remove the tailgate panel since putting it back with these so I’ll let you know if they come out easily or if they destroy everything when prying them out.
