OK, so a 2" spacer lift would actually work with the factory Rubicon shock (red) but 2.5" spacer will not. That's a great chart, I'm passing it along, we're getting started on his jeep tomorrow. This has been a big help thanks a lot we sure appreciate it!
BTW, if your friend really wants new shocks, Quadratic is already one step ahead of you here: https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/1.75in-spacer-lift-kit-wrangler-jl/fox-shocks

Spacer lift, 1.75" and new Fox shocks.

My advice would be to shop around for Rubicon take-offs. He’ll get what he’s looking for, and save a ton of money.
I put rubicon springs on my 21 jlu & it maybe lifted it 1 inch max.

Yeah, I mentioned that, but he doesn't like the firm ride. He recently rode in mine and said no way! I just installed them, and I admit the ride is definitely solid compared to the factory ride.

Any other suggestions?
We did the much more expensive Metalcloak setup (plus many more items) for our Gladiator for off-roading and absolutely love the ride! CRAZY EXPENSIVE for everything!

However, when I purchased MY new Wrangler, because I love the stock ride and I only planned on doing light off-roading, I did something very different to get the look I wanted at a much reduced price over the Gladiator.

We installed the 2” AEV spacer lift, added the Teraflex Sport front lower control arm kit and the Falcon Nexus EF 2.2 Fast Adjust Steering Stabilizer. Additionally (and ONLY just because I wanted them) I added Falcon shocks over the factory shocks, and added a mini Tazer instead of using the AEV Snap that was included in the kit as I wanted to turn off multiple items (auto park, auto stop, 3 horn, etc.) as well as install an aftermarket camera since I stupidly thought that I wouldn’t miss NOT having a front camera — HA!

I also added 35” tires and 17” wheels because who doesn’t want to immediately do that??

My Wrangler rides beautifully! There is naturally a small different feel due to the size of the tires, but it’s nominal. Overall, the ride feels very similar to the stock ride which is 100% what I was going for with my Wrangler. And for the win, the above was NOWHERE NEAR the cost of what we did to the Gladiator —Not even close! :)

That definitely sounds like what he's looking for. When we are done with my friends jeep I get to experience the look and the ride compared to my set up & ride quality. If I like his better then I may change my set up as well. I don't really mind the firmer ride that I have now but on the interstate for 5 hours I'm not sure about that at the moment.

Thank you.

Do you need longer sway bar links for the 2" spacer lift?
