My advice would be to shop around for Rubicon take-offs. He’ll get what he’s looking for, and save a ton of money.

Yeah, I mentioned that, but he doesn't like the firm ride. He recently rode in mine and said no way! I just installed them, and I admit the ride is definitely solid compared to the factory ride.

Any other suggestions?

Not at that price point. Maybe spacers and longer shocks or shock extensions if he likes the way it rides now.

I put the Metalcloak True Dual 2.5” kit on mine and it rides every bit as comfortable as it did stock, but obviously it’s in the $2000 ballpark vs. $800.

I wasn't sure if a cheap set of springs would be better than 2" spacers. So, don't bother with different springs of any kind just install 2" spacers, longer shocks, mopar extended LCA's will be fine?

I have an extra set of Rubi shocks I can set him up with, I'm trying to help him out where I can. He just does light off roading like I do and wants to run a larger tires but he likes a soft ride.

Thank you for your help.

The Rancho kit is said to be decent for the money. There are a few folks on here with this.

We were doing some reading about Skyjacker they don't seem to get good reviews.

I looked on Rancho's website, they have 2" lift springs but it says it's for a 4-door.

Thank you

Your friend didn't mention that he needs the increased articulation from longer springs. Based on the assumption that factory articulation already meets his offroad needs, I'd get a spacer lift -- his ride will remain identical because the springs and shocks are unchanged, merely offset with spacers for the greater height. There's absolutely no reason to spend more if it's unneeded.

Yeah, I think that sounds good. We both just run easy trails, we don't even need to disconnect sway bar links. Can he use a longer set of shocks? I have an extra set of Rubi shocks he can have.

You'd still want to use the shock relocation brackets included with that kit because extending even Rubicon shocks by 2.5" is too long for the shock. Either Sport or Rubicon shocks would work, just use the relocation brackets.

OK, he was considering a shock upgrade, buying a longer shock and not using the shock brackets. What length shock should he buy? Something between 2-3" right?
