2019 JLUS here with the 2.0 engine and automatic transmission. Bone stock except a tire upgrade (the Goodyear Wranglers were TERRIBLE in snow).

Anyway, my Jeep is my official dog-walking vehicle - put 'em in the back with their wet paws and sandy bellies, keep the fancy cars nice. Consequently, most of my driving is a bunch of short little trips, usually less than a mile and my overall MPG is pretty low (~13 or 14). But whenever I take it on a decent drive and reset the MPG indicator, I'm surprised by just how good the mileage is in something with the aerodynamics of a concrete block. I took it into Traverse City last week (~20 miles, country roads with a few stops, hills, and curves) and actually got 27 MPG. I didn't buy this to be a Toyota Prius, but I'm pleasantly surprised at just how good the mileage is in normal driving. That's actually quite a bit better than the EPA estimates which is something I don't see from my wife's Volvo XC60 or her old Subarue Forester.

Don't go by the instrument cluster gauge, that has been shown to be inaccurate by at least 3 - 5 mpg on many vehucles based on manual mileage/gallons calculation. And th e manual method isn't a totally accurate method either compared to engineering testing. I've seen Wrangler drivers claim 35 mpg.
Just drive and worry if it averages 5 mpg or 50 mpg.

I have a '19 JLR 2.0 eTorque. Totally stock. Owned a base TJ and JK Freedom Ed before. My JLR gets a LOT better MPG then both of those. VERY impressive mpg considering how much more powerful my JL is compared to the TJ and JK. What's more impressive is how good my JLR's mpg are with Rubicon gears. I have been averaging 21 mpg mixed city/highway with the A/C on. I have seen as high as 26 mpg all highway with A/C blasting averaging 70 mph. Best Wrangler yet by a long shot.

my 19 jl sports 3.6 8spd average 19-20 mpg town and 25.5-29.6 on the interstate. i did 460 miles on a full tank of gas with the a/c on full blast and 70-75mph. so, no complaints
