Stupid Question. PHEV Conversion Kit?

Just wondering, since I don't know too much about the inner workings of Wrangler engines, etc, including the 4XE

But would it be possible now or in the future, to convert a gas JL to a PHEV like the 4XE?

Of course it would be possible. But not feasible. Much more feasible to sell your gas JL (if you have one) and buy a 4xe.

Much more likely that an aftermarket company would come out with a full electric retrofit kit for a JL in the future.

Not really. You would be changing so many parts that you would spend much more than just buying a new 4xe off the lot.

Really, almost everything is different. The engine, the transmission, the wiring harness, the body, the dash, instrument cluster, body panels (charge port) etc etc.
