I’ve been running a set of 315/70/17 stt pros for just under 50k they have been a great tie but after 30k they got loud.

now as I’m tie shopping I’m considering the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss at but back at stock size in the suv tire.

they won’t be as good off road, but a 60k tire that doesn’t scream down the road sounds good. They also weigh 20lbs less per tire. If I go LT they are back up to close to the same weight of my current tire so I’d just go back to a 35x12.5.

the jump to 35s is serious! Don’t want to go back to stock for looks or performance but man 20lbs a tire…

I think the Mickey BB AT is the best balance of on and off road tire for my uses, that I've had for an AT or even an RT tire.

@jadmt has some of them in a pizzacutter size that he likes.

as @roaniecowpony said I run the pizza cutter mickey's along with mickey's in 37x12.5-17. both do great and the pizza cutters come in at 88lbs on oem wheels and the 37's on AEV wheels at 118lbs and seat of the pants it is strange going from the pizza cutters to the 37's I do not feel a seat of the pants difference in how they feel giddy up wise....but going the other way from 37's to the pizza cutters it always feels like I added 50hp.....I like them both and switch back and forth often. I have ~20,000 miles on the pizza cutters and still nice and quiet.

I run Discoverer ST MAXX. I love them.
I have run st maxx in 285/75-17, 295/70-17 and 315/70-17 and my only complaint is they tend to get loud pretty fast and the 315/70-17 were on the short side. but all around were a great tire. I much prefer mickey thompson bb at's tho.

‘I like how they perform in black jack mud, almost as good as a m/t without most of the downsid of m/t. They balance well and do great on pavement in light or heavy rain. Duratracs were terrible in heavy rain. BFG AT required ridiculous weight to balance, packed with mud too easily, and I had problems with pieces of rubber chunking off.

Every tire is a compromise and there isn’t a best tire. There is a best tire first a specific usage and application.

The weak BBAT sidewall is a bit concerning though.

100% agree. I've had about 3 sets of the StMaxx on my pickup. That's why I went to a Falken AT4W on the pickup last tire change a year and change ago.

The carcass is the same 3 ply sidewall across several Cooper/Mickey tire lines. I've been surprised how much punishment they can take.

meh, 3 sets and been in some crazy sharp stuff. I don't think it would have been any different regardless of tire. shit happens sometimes.

They've survived a ton of rocks gouging these wheels without any problems. Thats testimony to their toughness.

In all fairness you’re running the LT tire which is built different than the suv tire. I believe the difference is substantial in the 33” tire. Weight alone gains 20lb in the same size just switching between LT and SUV on the bb at
