Storing Jeep for Winter

Now that winter is here many of us will be putting our jeeps away for the winter. Don’t want the elements touching our Jeep.

Just wondering what people do before putting it away for hibernation.

I know you're only kidding, but if you were serious, I'd put mine on a trickle charger for starters (pun intended.)

Believe it or not it does happen. Here's a listing for a '82 CJ-7 (Special Edition) that has never seen a winter and is in mint condition:

Oh yea - they dropped the price from around 23K a few weeks ago when I was mindlessly surfing about Jeeps and came across it.

I do not store the Jeep for winter, but for about the last 30 years, I have stored one sports car or another each winter, and these days all I do is put it on a trickle charger. I have not seen a tire flat spot since the early 90s. In the spring, I disconnect the coils or injectors to allow the motor to build up oil pressure before starting. The last two cars I have stored don,t even require this. Just floor them while starting to disable the injectors, then lift off the throttle once there is pressure, and they start right up.
