Auto shows are a joke anymore and I haven't gone in several years. Times have changed. I'm fine with missing paying $20 to park, $20 for a ticket, and then having to wait until some guy's kid is done playing jungle-gym in the front seat of an $80k car just so I can sit in it for 20 seconds.
We've been lucky in Charlotte, I guess. I think regular price tickets are still only $10-12, and there is usually an abundance of $5 ticket coupons to be found ahead of time. The shows aren't as much fun as they used to be, but I still enjoy taking my Dad and perusing whatever does show up, even if there isn't as much to excite either of us as there used to be.

My local convention center has an autoshow every year and every year since has the floor plan shrunk down to almost nothing. 2010-2011 it took over two large areas. Now its a 1/4 of one space

The same occurred with the annual Home Show held here. When I asked a State agency rep about the unignorable contraction in floor space (but not the parking and admission fees! ?), his actual response was that the old[er] folks who regularly attend the shows complained to the agency about the considerable amount of walking required to see all of the displays in all of the halls.

To be fair, there was a lot of ground to cover, but this wasn't a one-day event, either. My cynical self wondered why the State decided to cater to the one constituency that plainly wasn't going to be around very long to enjoy whatever home improvements the show convinced them to purchase.

One way to put it but yeah they won’t be the target audience, this past year I didn’t even go, last one I went to was 2021 or 2022. I’m curious to see what the floor plan looks like if Stellantis is still pulled out from events

I started getting less amped up for maker shows in general a while ago, it feels like most people attending from the companies had very little knowledge on subjects in general, its one of the biggest reasons why I would go in person to ask questions. The final straw for me was the jeep show at moab last year ( yeah i know not a huge show) but i asked different jeep reps, infact i think I asked all of them basic questions about the future of the eco diesel. this was EJS weekend, zero of them knew that the wrangler wasn't going to have the diesel and asked how i knew it was getting axed. I simply walked away because they didn't even know that.

Same experience years ago at the Chicago Auto Show. The reps couldn’t answer any questions outside of a brochure that they knew well.

Last year I went to the CES in Las Vegas. I went to the Jeep exhibit since I was thinking about getting a new Wrangler. The UConnect 5 radio was only in the Grand Wagoneer then and I asked about it. Why are you at the CES with a radio that is 6 years old? Answer: 4XE, 4XE, 4XEEEEE!!!

Next question: I have been searching online for a Wrangler and the website is abysmal. We brought it up on their IPad, and I showed them all the complaints we had here. Some options for the Wrangler don’t show up, and instead we get options that don’t exist on Wranglers, etc. How can I build a Wrangler and then do a dealer search like this? Do you know how many sales you are losing?

Clueless, but at least it caused a big enough issue that they were emailing multiple people about it.

that and another thing i noticed, none of the people i've talked to at shows really liked their job, they were just there to get a pay check.

Jeep needs to open their eyes and start catering to the customers. The Jeep offerings are a joke right now for the Rubicon model between the base and the X. You can either buy and under equipped base model at an exorbitant price or buy and over equipped model at and extra exorbitant price. Jeep needs to give the customer a way to go ala carte and build it their way. It’s BS to make the customer build it Jeep’s way for the price they want. I’m thinking of things like dropping the XR on the base Jeep. Forcing a winch with steel bumper group on the base but offering steel bumpers on the X while having to add the winch. The dual top group being the only way to get a soft top on an X. Or making the customer take painted fenders on the X. Jeep needs to go back to one Rubicon and left the customer configure it to their liking. So glad I bought in 2022.
Not to mention the weird decision on no leather seats for non 4xe/X models....such a weird choice.

Holding Out For A Diesel Wrangler 2 DOOR!
Sales are tanking. Time to cut back.
If Stellantis would have figured out a way to get their 2 Door DIESEL Wranglers into the US Market, back when they began shipping them out to the rest of the world in 2011, Stellantis would be currently riding that brilliant money-making move, right off into a most spectacular, never-ending sunset.

I remember when I Rubicon could be had with manual windows and locks and things like cruise control were an option. They need to bring that back. A base Rubicon should not cost $50,000.
