Steering column tilt stuck.

So this is weird. I tilted down my column then tightened the lever. Drove around a bit then stopped and went to release the lever so I could tilt the steering column back up. No dice. Lever wouldn't move more than a quarter inch. Column is in the down position and stuck. Anybody experience this and was there a solution?

I got it unstuck. Thought the handle would break but it worked.
