Other's might chime in.. but does getting a TSB require for you to be within warranty ? Seems like a seperate issue. ?
I would verify.
@JeepCares
Thanks for the suggestion, I called Jeep Wave (cares?) to find out if it needed to be under warranty, and they said it did, the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty to be specific. They did say they have a grace period of 24,000 miles on top of the standard warranty for this TSB, but I'm outside of that as well lol. Oh well.

Doesn't the swap to the steel gear box require a PCM update? I thought I read that in the TSB but maybe not. Something to look into...

Yes, it does. I had this done recently and it was a PCM update as well as box replacement

Well, I JUST got my 2018 JLUR back today from Faricy Boys in Colorado Springs, having replaced the steering gear. When I got home, I realized they didn't update the PCM or address the TSB in any way per their paperwork!!!

I specifically identified the TSB to the "Service Coordinator" and brought a hard copy, but they literally just replaced the steering box.

What are the implications of running on the new box, but without the software update? Should I worry about this?

As if it hasn't been said before, DON'T TRUST THE DEALERSHIPS TO DO SHIT CORRECTLY!!! ARE YOU LISTENING "JEEP CARES"???
