Hi all,

I recently took my JL in to the dealership for a clicking noise when I was turning. They tightened the lower ball joint to get rid of the sound, but now I'm noticing this squeel when it turns? Maybe a sign that it is too tight?

Does it sound like tire squeal? Tightening up the ball joint could change your camber a bit, changing your contact patch and making your tires squeal until worn a little bit, kinda like the squealing you get with new tires.

Thanks for your reply. Yes it's like a tire squeel. I'm trying to upload a video but can't format it. I will have one up soon

I'd probably inspect everything on and around the front axle, if no obvious damage drive it for a couple of hundred miles and see if it goes away. That's just me though.

I can't get my video to upload to save my life, but it sounds like it's the electric steering. Maybe I'm not used to electric steering and am just now noticing the issue.

Or as you said drive it around for a whole and see if it goes away.

Thanks again!

Check your power steering fluid also, mine came on the low side from the dealer but I caught it quickly. If low make sure you use what is required by the owners manual.
