so yesterday I went to dealer to have new soft top top installed. It had a small hole in it above passenger side door. No problem as they said bring it down will replace no problem. Parts came in went down for my appointment. They told me 1.5-2 hours for install.. again no problem figured I could just walk around and look at other vehicles on lot to kill some time. Fast forward the 2 hours service guy comes out and says they didn’t realize that it was a very long job and they won’t have time to finish it . Told me I could leave it or they will put it back together and I could make another appointment. Told them put it back together as I had to be somewhere and needed my Jeep. 5 minutes later they said it’s ready to go... that timeframe says to me they didn’t really take anything apart. So I’m kinda pissy that I waited 2 hours for nothing. Oh well.. after I got home I looked at the side windows and seen the plastic that slides under the body lip to hold it down was bent and sticking out a bit. After sitting in the hot sun for the afternoon it is now unable to slide in where it’s supposed to go and looks bad. Brand new, don’t need this kind of aggravation. So do I trust them to “fix it” again or go somewhere else? Both sides look like picture now

My guess is because the top is brand new, the fabric is still really taught. And therefore the plastic piece from the window isn’t able to it’s casing.

Try this. Let the Jeep sit out in the direct sunlight. This will loosen up the material. Then try putting the window in and taking it out a few times. That will stretch it out. Should eliminate the issue going forward.

It’s not the window itself. It’s the plastic that slides along the bottom that’s all messed up. I’ve had them off before and they pop right in. But when they put it back together yesterday the didn’t line anything up and it has a split in it now

The driver side is worse but couldn’t get a good picture to see. It’s actually split. Not bent.

This is your old top or new one? If old, then yeah they totally didn't do that right. If new, then it needs to warm up and get loose. On second thought, take it back and make them fix it:like:

This is my original top. There was nothing wrong with the sides. But when they put it back together this is what it looked like. Unfortunately I didn’t realize this until late last night. Otherwise i would have said something there.
