Hi guys,

I have a mopar premium soft top on my 18 JLUR, I just took my hard top off and installed it yesterday. For some reason it seems to be higher on the drivers side, and there is a gap between the top itself and the rail above the drivers side back door. The rear quarter window on the drivers side is a stretch to put in place as well... I had the soft top installed last summer and no issues at all. I checked all the instructions over and actually removed and reinstalled the top twice yesterday, and its still higher on the drivers side. Nothing seems bent or out of place on any of the framework or hinges, anyone else have a similar issue?

thanks!!!

Is the roller on the driver's side of the top, that clips into the top's door hardware, in it's track, as shown here for the passenger's side?

Yup, all lined up. The framework is installed solid and seems to match on both sides, but the top seems to be higher on the drivers side

When you examine the distance of the front door's door hardware, including the tightness of their bolts on the frame, and their overall symmetry does the hardware seem out of skew from one side to the other?

Or you think its the top itself that is causing the height difference, or both?

Did you ever get a resolution on this issue. I just installed my soft top for the first time and I am experiencing the exact same thing.

I just installed mine on Sunday and one side wouldn't close because it was higher. I hade a couple of people push and prod it until it fit. The next day after sitting in the hot sun all day it opened and closed with no problem. It may not be your issue, but it worked for me. Leave it in the sun for a couple of hours and try again if there i no way you can make it fit.

Thanks. Mine will close okay, but it sits a little higher on the rear drivers side than on the rear passenger side. The fabric from the top does not fit down in the groove on the door rail like on the other side. Is much more noticeable when the top is not latched in the front. Latching pulls it into place a little more. I will give it time to stretch out in the sun.

Ah, got it. I do/did not have that problem. Good luck.
