Soft Top problem...bikini style

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. 2019 JL w/ soft top. For years when I just want to get the outside feeling into the Jeep I would just flip the top over 1x and secure it with some velcro straps to keep the frame from bouncing around (never had a problem where ever I drove, highway, local etc). Yesterday I flipped it down and went down the highway. About halfway to my destination, it was noisier than ever but meh, whatever. On the way home, I noticed that the top kinda dipped down and it was REALLY noisy. I have noticed that the top has pulled away from the bars that run from the drivers side to the passenger side. All that being said, is my top shot for the highway and fast speeds "bikini" style? Should I refrain from just going "bikini" style on the highway and just keep it when local.
