Hello! I have a 2024 Sahara. This is my first jeep (one month old) and I very much enjoy it. I am having one issue. About 80% of the time the latch to take off the roof will not unlatch. I have to wiggle it and pull it, sometimes for several minutes. Is this common? Thanks!

yes, this is normal. There is a trick to getting it unlatched. I always just push the two parts of the mechanism away from each other, this gives the hook portion just a hair more clearance and I rotate the latch open while doing this. Hope that makes some sort of sense. You'll get a muscle memory for it and it will get easier.

EDIT: I should also add, you can also use one hand to push the cross bar between the latches forward while opening the latch and that should work/help.

About 80% of the time the latch to take off the roof will not unlatch. I have to wiggle it and pull it, sometimes for several minutes.

After you unlatch the soft top, pull down on its header bar, via the center indentation in it above the rear view mirror. Doing so should allow the recalcitrant hook on the affected latch to release on its own, as it should do. Futzing with the latches, as seen in the video, shouldn't be necessary.

Pulling down on the header bar also makes it easier to seat the hooks in their corresponding brackets when locking the soft top in place.
