Tonight, when I was trying to close my sky one-touch top on my 2020 jeep wrangler unlimited Sahara, I could hear it closing as usual, and then I heard what sounded like something cracking, and then the top stopped closing and the dash told me that there was an obstacle. when I looked back to see what the obstacle was, I could see that the white frame the top is attached to and then to the jeep body was cracked and then some very small pieces fell. I can't get it closed.
After looking up online about how to get the top closed, it told me to not try and close it with the power again. it did suggest to cover the half closed top with a tarp or something to protect the inside from the elements outside. it also suggested for me to manually close it, which I am going to attempt next.
It also told me that this is a problem that has only one solution, a full replacement. And that price tag is out of my reach.
If I can get it closed and after thinking about my options, a full replacement or converting to a hardtop, does anyone have any opinions and or suggestions?
I tried looking up the top on the mopar website, but the top itself is composed of numerous parts instead of a one part purchase so I don't know the exact price of the replacement (even if I install it myself which I'm brave enough to try).
thanks everyone!
