When opening the Sky One-Touch roof is it a one touch to open and close or do you have to hold the button the whole time? Reason i ask is I saw a video of someone doing a one touch but on my new 2019 JL I need to hold the button.

Thanks!!!

Mine you just press and release button immediately and it will open/close the whole way. If you hold the button it will just go until you release it.

One touch open or close. Can touch again if you want to stop short.

How do you like the Sky Top Roof.
Does the max warranty cover the sky one touch roof?
I live in the Northeast with the cold snowing winter.. Do you think it would hold up in this climate
Thanks for your help

"Dear New Line Cinema: makers of the Final Destination franchise of horror films where a group of friends die in classic B movie near comedic and horrific ways:

Given the ubiquitous nature of the Wrangler in popular culture, and their immergence of a power sun roof product that doesn't have to run on the principles of a dead man switch (i.e. have to hold it down to make it work), I'd really appreciate it if you could incorporate into your next franchise film the decapitation of a youth or two by said device gone wild.

How amazing would it be if the victim's head landed perfectly on top of a long and pointy brush grill guard?

Your welcome.;)"

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I have the same roof, too. In fact, I traded the 2018 I bought in January for a new one with the one touch.

I LOVE the roof!!! Absolutely THE BEST option on the vehicle. I know there are others that would say that taking the whole roof off is better, and I agree, but for me, the convenience of just pressing a button and having practically the entire roof retract to reveal the open sky is awesome...and convenient. Just yesterday, it was 42° and rainy in the morning but 70°(!) and sunny during the afternoon, so I went home topless. Unless you have the regular soft top, you can't do that...but I did it with mine while the vehicle was moving at 35 MPH. Then, once I reached the house, I pressed the button to close as I was pulling in the garage. Walked inside. Done.

As for warranty, I would think it would be covered under the normal bumper to bumper. And I think it will do just fine in the NE US...I mean there a LOTS of soft top Wranglers up there already, right? The roof has support braces approximately every 6" or so, so normal snow weight should be fine...If you're talking multiple feet, then IDK.

I can not speak to the snow, as I live in the south. It is covered under MAX though. That is the only reason I got it.

I totally love the one touch top! I waited until it was orderable, and it was worth the wait. Being able to experience the open air was one of the deciding factors for me to get a wrangler. Its such a fun vehicle. And yes, as has been said one touch opens or closes all the way, holding makes it stop where you let go.

Now if they only would have made the window switches the same way! baffling why they didn't. drivers goes all the way down, but not up unless you hold it, none of the other windows are auto up or down.

Really!! about the window switches.

Maybe this has come up before, complete with market solutions, but does anyone know of a way to replace the factory switches, at least those that control the front doors or the driver's door windows to effect automatic 1 press up functionality with MOPAR or aftermarket products?

In all seriousness, does this thing really not have a safety feature like elevator doors do? Narrowly avoided a really serious situation with it today. When I tested it for an auto stop safety feature afterwards, I could not get the roof to stop even when pulling back on it with full strength. I would be amazed if the safety board would allow such a product to exist this day and age without any regards for safety. If this is the case then a tragedy is bound to happen and it’s only a matter of time if it hasn’t already.
