Took the ski rack on its maiden voyage today, about 60 mi each way on the interstate. No rattles or discernable wind noise; everything stayed well in place.

Setup took a while this first time around, with five strap steps between the bicycle carrier base and the ski rack add-on. To make it easier to setup next time, I used a paint pen to mark the five strap locations on the carrier, and I put each strap in a labeled ziploc bag.

We used the roll bars for four sets of skis. I too have a soft top and had no way to haul skis, except this method with ratchet straps wrapped around roll bars from side to side.

We used 2 sets of ratchet straps. One strap up front, in front of driver seat head space and the other strap in back. Initially leave the straps loose, but in the ratchet, to allow slack to load the skis into the slack. Load the skis from the rear of vehicle, below the roll bar. Once all skis are in the strap loop, you just ratchet up to tighten and pull the skis up to the roll bar.

We did this with my family of four. All skiers, no snowboards. No head space issues. The only issue on the way home from the slopes, the bindings dripped melted snow as Jeep warmed up. We wrapped a towel to catch any melt.

I didn’t take any pics, but I certainly can tomorrow if you are interested. I kept the ratchets installed for the reminder of the ski season.

Can you please show me a picture of how you rigged that? Im also stuck with a 2 door soft top with a 3 or 4 ski quiver. access to the tailgate and camera is a very nice feature.
