Ok so I had to finally install my plates onto my Jeep. Easy right? Not when you don’t have a plate mount for the front bumper. Made one myself. Used a spider base then made my own aluminum rods which I bent at bottoms. Drilled holes in rods and bumper. Bolted it up added some matted black can spray and it’s good to go.

Not the OP but it seems it went from +4.5 to -4.75 so that would be a delta of 9.25 degrees if I'm reading that right
I'm pretty sure my cheap Amazon bubble guage is wrong. However, it should be somewhere around 6-7 from what its tell me. My LCAs are at 25"

What kind of paint did you use?
Tried painting my exhaust a couple weekends ago and noticed today it is already starting to peel/chip. Any recommendations on how to get better results? My guess is to use medium grit sand paper to rough up the metal surface which is what Inshould have done the first time. Just checking here first to see if others agree.

They make high heat header paint. Did you use that?

I have been painting the muffler and tail pipe on my JK's since 2007... now have painted the muffler and tail pipe on the JL.

All I have ever done is first wipe the muffler and tail pipe with alcohol or paint thinner (never roughed up the surface) and then sprayed with regular Rustoleum Spray Paint. I have never used the more pricey Rustoleum, high heat offering.

Anyway, never have had the regular Rustoleum burn off, peel off, etc.. The paint wears well and lasts a long time.

Note: I would never used undercoating spray ... it is rubberized ..

Doh!!!

I totally thought the can I had was high heat rated. Specifically went to store for that after reading this forum. Apparently I ended up walking out with the wrong thing. It appears the “vehicle underbody” statements on the can steered me the wrong way. Thanks for the reality check.

I work at a print shop so i was able to cut them myself. i bet @pixeldecals or other vinyl shops would like to help. just to let u know it is 3M 1080, Satin Black, i found that the 3M satin black matches the OEM decal the best.
Thanks!

4 days ago we did our jl rubi exhaust with - VHT FLAME PROOF very high temperature (1,300 to 2,000F) spray ceramic coaing in SP102 flat black. It claims it is ideal for exhaust components, radiator and cooling system components and
maniflds. There are very, very explicit curing instructions. Hope ours fares well.

Finally man'd up and decided to tighten the steering box. Let me tell you it was worth it and my Rubicon feels like it's supposed to now. Nice and tight. But boy it wasn't easy and I ended up with busted knuckles. Also installed my sweet decals from @pixeldecals

I’m by no means an overlander, I’m lucky if I go camping 5 times a year. One thing I do enjoy is camping/fishing on the beach in the outer banks. Usually 3-4 Days at a time. One thing I can’t stand while camping is my food and condiments getting soggy/waterlogged. I picked up this fridge for $100 and planned to use it solely for food while camping. I only plan on carrying it on trips but it’s kinda nice having on a daily basis.

My purpose for the box is so I can store gear on top, protect it and not have to unpack when I wanna grab some food. I’ll still carry an ice cooler for beer!

Wow, 100 bucks for the fridge? Where did you get it? How does it perform?
