posted this in the original thread about the winjet sequential LED tail lights, but never did get an answer, so I'll throw this out to the masses for opinions:

the winjet tail lights, if I understand correctly, contain diodes so that they are basically plug and play for non-LED equipped (or non-programmed) tails.

if one has the led tail package, then the diode needs to be removed/cut out, or whatever

rather than start messing with wires & such, could one simply "unprogram" the LED tails & then install these? seems like it would be a better option as far as maintaining the warranty, etc. (still on the fence about which programmer I"m going to get, all we'll probably use it for is for LED's & tire size: tazer is nice, but seems like a large waste of money for features we'll most likely not be using)

I really like the winjet tails, but really would prefer NOT to start cutting/removing things unless it's absolutely necessary

My JL came with the LED option.
I was a fan of the winjet tails and bought them. Install was plug and play and took about 5 minutes. Zero issues, and everything worked as intended.

YMMV.

so you didn't have to remove/disable the diode in the winjets?

I did not. To be quite honest I did zero research on the winjets. I saw them and liked the look, so I immediately ordered them. And they worked!

I got the same (smoked color). Fantastic lights, takes 5 to 10 min. All you need is a flat head and a torx bit. Heck the Box they came in was surprisingly packed as well.
