I drive where there are a fair amount of deer and the plastic bumper doesn't give me much confidence. Bought a steel Tyger Stubby (yes I know it's a cheap bumper) but noticed after it said not compatible with Rubicon trim??? Curious how the Rubicon with a plastic stock bumper is different from other Wranglers?

TG-BP6J70078 is the model.

Thanks

Only thing I can think of is the fog light differences, but I think that's LED vs halogen vs steel factory bumper.

A bumper designed for a JK used on a JL (like this appears to be) will likely be extremely tight to the grill when you install the winch. The JL horns are shorter, or at least closer to the grill.

I have led fog lights, won't be installing a winch, hopefully it fits. Can't see the grill and bumper mounts are much different than a Wrangler? Says compatible with JLs.

The JK and JL front frame horns are almost the same, the only thing that would really change is support bracket locations. One of the horn holes is smaller than the JK, so if you can't get it to go in, you may need to drill it out a bit.

The Rugged Ridge I have is a similar setup, they just added some brackets to the JK and were able to update the compatibility list.

Ordered a Tyger Bumper off Amazon then noticed it stated not for Rubicon.

This was the response from Tyger? Rubicon bumpers have to be rhe same for all JL Wranglers I would think?

The TG-BP6J70078 bumper doesn't fit Rubicon trims because of differences
like the factory steel bumper setup, red tow hooks, and a sway bar
disconnect system that interfere with mounting and clearance.

Thanks,
Tyger Auto

Sent it back, guess the electronic sway bar disconnect takes up some room under the bumper.

I installed a different bumper (MP Concepts forged aluminum) that came with a winch plate that was not compatible with the Rubicon. All it needed was a little bit of grinding to make space for the swaybar disconnect motor.
